Why Should Children Learn Music?

Singing and music play an important role in child development.Knowingly or unknowingly music is a part of everyone’s life. Infants recognize the melody of a song long before they understand the words.
A child who studies music and learns how to play an instrument develops an appreciation for music and culture. There are many other benefits that children who learn a musical instrument can reap. Here are few of them:

1. Improves Brain Function.

Learning music improves concentration and memory,improves eyesight and hearing, and overall enhances the coordination.

2. Better Vocabulary

Training music at an earlier age develops reasoning and language skills.Researchs show that early musical training helps develop brain areas responsible for processing language.

Music boosts up the natural creativity of children. By learning a song and recreating it on their own itself is a creative activity.

4. Improves Patience

Learning a new song or whatever it may be needs practice. To practise and perfecting a song needs lot of persistence and patience. So unknowingly they are learning patience also.

5. Confidence Booster

Mastering a difficult song and performing infront of a crowd, however small it may be ,certainly boosts a child’s confidence.

6. Learns Teamwork
Most of the musical programs need teamwork as it involves a band or orchestra. So kids will learn how to work together as teams and build mutual support.
