Violent protests broke out all over Kerala on Wednesday following the section of the two ladies above 50 entered into the holy place.
A man who was harmed amid conflicts on Wednesday passed on yesterday night.
A Day long total shutdown in Kerala, called by an umbrella association of different conservative gatherings to challenge the passage of two ladies into the Sabarimala sanctuary on Wednesday, saw savagery and stone peddling in different parts of the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that holding the shutdown over ladies’ entrance into the Shabarimala Temple resembled a shutdown or hartal against the Supreme Court’s decision.
Hartal was backed by BJP and Congress led UDF. Bjp called this a black day.
Sabarimala Karma Samithi member Chandran Unnithan, 55, was seriously injured in clashes between the supporters of the ruling CPI(M) and the BJP in Pandalam .
Bindu and Kanaka Durgawhose age was below 50 managed to enter into the temple around 3.45 am on Wednesday, becoming the first to do so since the Supreme Court ordered the end of a decades-old ban on women of menstrual age entering the shabarimala Temple. Temple was shut down nearly for 1 hour for “purification” after the incident .
