Lessons from Mandela to Youth

As we celebrate Nelson Mandela International Day on his birthday on July 18 there are certain things to be kept in mind. Each individual has the power to transform the world, the ability to make an impact. He was a true leader whose life and death inspired millions of people around the globe. His struggle against racial oppression had taken him to prison for the long 27 years. From there he became the first black president of South Africa.

There is a lot to learn from this great man.His perseverance, commitment, hard work, compassion, and forgiving soul. Mandela’s life journey and his fighting against racial segregation focused the world’s attention on apartheid and touched millions of hearts. His struggle against apartheid shows to us that if we have a dream about something, no matter how hard the system is, if we have the true willingness within us, it’s never impossible to change anything that we want to change. Yes the road will never be easy, but it will be always worth it. Mandela’s message of non-violence, inspired the world that fighting violence with violence is never a good idea, sometimes all you need is forgiveness to make things better.
